Monday Night Football Teaser – 12/20/21

After a 2-1 NFL Sunday against the spread (hitting on DAL -11.5 and CIN +3 while missing on ATL +9), I couldn’t swallow any of the Monday night spreads so I decided to throw together a teaser I love the point spread we end up on in both games.

Browns +3 over Raiders, Vikings -0.5 over Bears -110 (6 point tease)

The Raiders have lost 5 of their last 6, three of those in blowout fashion against the Chiefs twice and Bengals once, and two of those against bad NFC East teams (WFT and Giants). With the Browns in a must win spot for their AFC North and playoff hopes, I expect them to win outright with or without Baker Mayfield playing (although based on his IG story it appears he’s on track to play with a negative test today). The “new” Raiders we’ve seen the past several weeks once the wheels started coming off do nothing better than this Browns team on offense or defense, but due to the obvious question marks due to their lengthy COVID-19 list, I feel more comfortable teasing Cleveland to +3.

It takes a lot for me to bet on primetime Kirk Cousins, but a tease mixed with the Bears’ defense (and especially secondary) being depleted due to COVID-19 is the right potion if you ask me. I simply have no faith in the Bears to stop Justin Jefferson and slow down Dalvin Cook with their near bottom of the league rush defense, giving up 120 rushing yards per game, and Justin Fields and the rest of the offense haven’t shown nearly enough to make me think they can hang with a team that will have so much more firepower and talent on the field than them on a normal night, but especially tonight with the number of defensive players out for Chicago.
