It’s Wednesday so you know what that means, MACtion time! Last Tuesday I hit on Akron +20.5 as they lost by 6 but missed Wednesday night on NIU +3.5 as they lost a shootout to Kent State 52-47. I took last night off from MACtion with college basketball starting (but hit on my one bet CMU +16.5 over Mizzou) after a 3-1 NFL weekend so let’s stay hot tonight!
Toledo -10.5 over Bowling Green (0.55u to win 0.5u)
My initial gut looking at this game was to take Bowling Green (#144) and the points but then I couldn’t get over their home performances this season and a couple other factors. They lost to South Alabama (#126), beat a bad Murray State team (#202), lost by 15 to Akron (#164) AKA the worst team in the MAC, and lost by 21 to Eastern Michigan (#88). They now find themselves taking on possibly the best all around team in the conference despite their record, Toledo (#77), who has had much better luck playing on the road this season than Bowling Green has at home.
Toledo narrowly lost against Notre Dame (#8) early in the season 32-29, beat Ball State (#86) by 10, blew out UMass (#201), and lost in OT to Central Michigan (#95). The Rockets have a well balanced offense much superior to Bowling Green’s and a solid RB in Junior Bryant Koback, helping Toledo average over 30 points per game (30.8) while Bowling Green does nothing particularly well on offense consistently and averages 23.6 per game.
On the defensive side, Toledo also has the upper hand as Bowling Green is giving up over 30 points per game (30.6) and struggles at stopping the run, which is where the Rockets especially excel. I’m rolling with Toledo to cover and win in blowout fashion against an overmatched Bowling Green team.
All bets are -110 and 1.1u to win 1u unless stated otherwise.
