MACtion! Tuesday Night College Football Bet – 11/2/21

So I’m still riding the high off hitting my NFL Week 8 long shot parlay (+1880) and profiting $470 off a $25 bet, and with some MACtion tonight I had to sprinkle a little on at least one game. College football is admittedly not my forte, and I’ve only laid 3 spread/total bets this season, going 2-1 so far. I’ve bet several ML favorites that I felt comfortable paying the juice on and have only lost one of those as well as one teaser, and currently sit at 11-3 (+3.17u) YTD in CFB. You can see all my picks this season in the action link at the bottom of the article.

Akron +20.5 over Ball State

Taking out Auburn and Ohio State, Akron has lost by 21, won by 21, lost by 17, won by 15, lost by 13, and most recently fell to Buffalo by 35. Taking out the Penn State game, Ball State on the other hand has wins by 10, 12, 25, and 7, with a 33 point loss to Wyoming, 10 point loss to Toledo, and 7 point loss to Miami OH.

With Akron covering this number in every conference game besides one and Ball State only covering it once, I like my chances on taking the points and this high number being a bit of an overreaction to the Buffalo game. Ball State is the better team and will likely win, but I don’t see them putting up enough offense to cover this high of a number (averaging 24.5 points per game while giving up 27.9).

Their only common opponent so far is Miami OH, who Akron lost to by 13 while mentioned above, Ball State fell to them by 7. All the numbers and signs point to 20.5 being too many points, so I’m rolling with the Zips tonight.
