NY Giants/Washington Football Team, Washington -3 (8:20PM EST)
This one will be short. The defense is too aggressive and too forceful this year for Daniel Jones to best them. Jones is 0-6 in primetime games and although people won’t be watching this one unless you’re betting lines like myself, Saquon is listed as questionable and won’t be someone to lean back on. On the offensive side for the WFT, if Heinicke can get the ball to people the talent is there. He has played good games including a playoff game, I thought he should’ve been the starter originally even. Antonio Gibson will dominate the run game and the Giants just seem depleted all around after watching their week 1 performance against Denver.
Logan Thomas TD +200
I think the +200 is too good to pass up. He caught Heinicke’s only touchdown of week 1 and Thomas is one of his favorite targets. Heinicke has only played 3 games in his short NFL career. In the first 2 last year, Thomas caught 5 and 7 passes from him. In the Week 1 game Thomas caught 3 passes, all from Heinicke. Logan Thomas is going to open himself up as one of the bigger red zone threats the WFT has due to their smaller backfield. If they can get inside the 30 or so, I bet their new QB will be looking for his favorite guy.
Antonio Gibson O70.5 Rushing Yards and O16.5 Attempts
Last week Antonio Gibson ran the ball 20 times for 90 yards. So, in Week 1 he obviously hits both of these overs. This week they play a similar, if not worse, defense in a primetime game where I assume they will be winning. Washington’s defense is among the best in the league and will be tearing apart a poor New York offensive line. Daniel Jones makes mistakes regularly. When there is a good defense involved… You know what you do the math. To add to the fire, there were only 3 rushing attempts that were not Gibson last week and Heinicke will be starting at quarterback making it more likely they will rely on the run game. Hammer both of these overs.
